End-of-Life Doula Services

“Anissa has been seeing my mother for a year and a half now. She is absolutely wonderful, creating art with her, doing life reviews, listening to music, doing hands-on Reiki therapy and more. She is such a great companion for my mother to have! She also gives me respite when I need it. She has been a Godsend and I feel so blessed to have met her. “~Anonymous, Ohio

“Anissa was an incredible friend to my father throughout the last year of his life. She taught him art, watched his favorite shows with him, did crafts and shot the breeze! I feel at peace knowing that she helped take care of him and showed him lots of love.” ~G.B., West Virginia

She was able to help me get into meditating state which is extremely hard normally because my mind is in a million places. And she gave me meditations to practice at home! Absolutely loved it!

Grief Coaching

“I was unable to sleep more than a few hours a night and was very depressed after witnessing a tragic death.  Anissa helped me have a different perspective on the entire situation and also gave me tools to help me with the healing process. What a blessing that was!” ~B.K. Ohio

“I can not express all the love and support she has given me through my stepmom’s passing. I felt so lost and confused, even to the point of hurting myself, and she helped me through that. I will be forever grateful!” ~J.G. Virginia

“I first started working with Anissa about six months following the death of my mother, who died at age 87 as a result of a fall and an inoperable hip fracture. From the beginning, I found Anissa to be a good listener who was sensitive, caring, and easy to talk to. We met via Zoom or over the phone, since we were all on lockdown due to Covid. She was willing to work with my schedule and flexible with scheduling issues as they arose.
Anissa is familiar with the many faces of grief, including ambiguous loss and anticipatory grief. As we continue to work through my grief over my mother’s passing, she also has been helping me work through my grief over my 93 year old father’s continual journey deeper into dementia. (He still lives in a care facility in PA where he and my mother were roommates for the three years prior to her death.) Because of her experience as a Certified End-of-Life Doula, Anissa is very sensitive to issues with the elderly, including dementia, hospice, and the world of nursing homes and skilled care facilities. I value Anissa’s knowledge and expertise in these areas very much as I continue to navigate end of life/dementia issues with my dad. I feel that Anissa is a part of my caregiving team for both me and my dad as she supports me in giving him the best life possible within the growing limitations of his disease.
I value the personal relationship that I have developed with Anissa in our work together, as well as her compassionate listening skills and her ideas for my own self-care, such as meditation, visualization, and journaling. I feel very fortunate that I discovered Anissa as a grief coach when I did, and I recommend her highly for anyone who needs support during a period of grief.”
~Vicki NeCastro, West Virginia
